Dubai UAE: ideyna.com, an online platform that offers handcrafters and artists in the UAE a convenient portal to showcase and sell their handmade goods is celebrating their first month of success with a record number of artisans on board.
The especially unique platform provides creative entrepreneurs a personalized space that becomes their shop. This shop showcases the items they make, supported by a gallery of photographs of the items with descriptions and prices set by their seller.
Although there is no registration fee or listing charge for a seller when setting up shop, ideyna only takes a commission when an item is sold. The website also arranges shipping of items to buyers worldwide.
For added value, ideyna regularly does video and photo features on its sellers to promote and market them in unique and creative ways. DIY videos, crafter stories spotlighting artisans and other original content are tools that the site uses to bring attention to the talented sellers and the items they create.
ideyna, which means ‘our hands’ in Arabic, is founded by Nafisa Rebello and Ekta Saran – both television and advertising professionals based in Dubai. ‘Anyone looking for something unique, creative and original will be right at home on ideyna. Everything is one of a kind. You won’t find them in a mall near you.’ say the founders. They continue, ‘It’s amazing how talented the handcrafters and artisans here are. Through ideyna, we want to show their skill to the world.’
Currently ideyna only allows sellers from the UAE but plans are in place to open up to crafters from other countries in the near future.
